When was the last time you had a life moment that took your breath away? Did you take that moment of breath taking beauty away with you by creating an artistic expression of it?
As artist we should be capturing those breath taking moments in our medium as well as taking ordinary moments and creating breath taking moments with our creative expression.
Today when life takes your breath away, capture it, remember it and express it to share with all.

Are you living life or are you just reacting? Are you truly setting your own goals, pursing your own dreams or are you blindly stumbling down someone else's path? Most would say there are but two certainties in this existence, death and taxes. We build our comfortable and what we think are stable lives and the biggest risk we take is trying a new kind of latte' but then one day it happens, the unexpected, the tragedy that shatters our security.
We were meant to live life not just exist!!! There are three certainties in this existence, death, taxes and the unexpected.
Why do we think of the unexpected as a horrible thing? Don't get wrong there are certain things I like to plan in life especially having enough money to pay the essentials (shelter, food and the internet) but as a whole I want to welcome the unexpected because it can provide me with creative inspiration and motivation.
We were made to be creative so why not use the unexpected to inspire and motivate you to create something in your medium today?

When was the last time you expressed your gratitude to a firefighter? Yes it is there job to risk there life to protect and help us but don't think they need to hear that it is appreciated? They are brave, selfless and courageous and desire our gratitude every day.
Today say I appreciate what you do to a firefighter and let it inspire more gratitude.

People are all around us everyday but do you truly see them and the freedom they are or are not living?
How do you define freedom? Are you free in your life? Are you enjoying the things that make you happy or are you just existing? When was the last time you took a walk and observed others and looked at things through their eyes?
Obviously happiness is subjective. Those who live life with simplicity may find happiness in things that others look at and say how sad that is all they can do. Some define happiness as family others as being alone. Take a look around you today how are people defining happiness with their actions?
In their own freedom some people look lost or misdirected but for them there is happiness, completeness in their freedom. Open your eyes to the beauty of difference and find expression for what stirs it you.
Find your creative palette in the freedom of others, let them inspire you, motivate you, to expression. We are all creative we just need to find our medium but without knowing what your freedom is you will never know your medium. Discover and create today.

Color is everywhere but do you see it or does everything meld together
into gray for you? To see things completely we must see their form to
see their form we must see their color.
Take time to look through color filled eyes it will lead you to notice things you haven't seen before like the reflections in our world. Let the wonderful palette of our world stir your creativity.
Colors can define not only things but us as well. Think about the color blue, what mood does it invoke in you? What about green, does it stir a memory of a good time? Use color as a jumping off point for your creativity. Use color as a way to soothe yourself in those turbulent times.
Color can brighten our world or it can deepen our moments. Take time today to wash away the color dulling things of the world like stress, work and worry and take a new look at the colors of the world and your life and then create something memorable from them.

So many times we just buzz through our day and never take notice of the beauty around us so today I would like you to slow down and explore the shadows of an ordinary day.
Shadows create amazing patterns not just from solid things around us but in our life as well. If we don't have shadows we can't see the details in anything.
Shadows allow us to see light more vividly and provide us with respite when the light is too intense. They allow us to find and see beauty in function and form.
Shadows can turn the most ordinary, mundane thing into a piece of are if it is viewed through open eyes and mind.
Go out today and study some shadows and see what beauty and amazement you might find.
As an artist it is important to look to the everyday and ordinary to find inspiration. The common, the known, the usual seen from a creative or just different perspective can inspire others and that is what my art is about inspiring others. My inspiration today was rain and the beauty that it brought to the city.
The purple reflections in the raindrops caught my eye. It reminds me that we are a reflection of what we are around and it is with in our power to chose what we reflect by choosing what we are around
Asphalt in the city it is everywhere and something we don't normally look at as artistic. But with rain gently dancing on the asphalt it takes on a beautiful quality. Look for beauty in everything around you.
